Newcastle United are said to be interested in a potential move for Ecuadorian wonderkid Moises Caicedo.
The Daily Mail have reported that the Magpies are in the hunt for the Independiente del Valle teenager, along with Manchester United, Chelsea and Brighton.
The 19-year-old’s stock has been rising in 2020, and in October he made history by becoming Ecuador’s youngster ever scorer and the first player born after the year 2000 to score in a CONMEBOL World Cup qualifier.
Caicedo is a central midfielder, who can operate has a defensive shield or in a box-to-box role.
He is known for having a ferocious shot, and models his game on French superstars N’Golo Kante and Paul Pogba (Global Digital TV, via 90min).
Newcastle are said to be in the hunt for Caicedo, but it seems they’ll have their work out to do a deal next month – it is on record that the South American starlet ‘dreams’ of playing for Manchester United.
