Newcastle now have their eye on ‘outstanding’ Leeds United midfielder

Newcastle United already have one 17-year-old superstar, and now they are looking to sign another.

Lewis Miley made his first ever Premier League start on Saturday, coming into the Newcastle midfield for the 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth.

It was a tough night for the Magpies, but the 17-year-old did well considering how difficult the situation was.

He is already immensely talented, and is going to develop into a real superstar in black and white. Providing all goes to plan, Newcastle have a midfielder who could still be pulling the strings in 2033.

Miley is already so good despite being so young, and a player who is the same age as him is turning heads in the Championship.

Archie Gray shining for Leeds United

Leeds United have turned to youth this season, with 17-year-old Archie Gray making 17 appearances already in all competitions. He has started 13 times in the Championship, helping Leeds challenge for an immediate return to the Premier League.

Gray is primarily a centre-midfielder, but has been asked to play at right-back on occasions this season. His last five appearances have came in defence, where he was recently described as ‘outstanding’ by former Leeds player Leigh Bromby.

Given the teenager’s performances, it is no surprise that other clubs are keeping an eye on him, one of which is Newcastle United.

Newcastle interested in 17-year-old midfielder

According to 90min, Newcastle are one of multiple clubs that are keeping tabs on Archie Gray. The other teams linked with the teenager are Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

The Premier League’s elite are circling, which is a testament to Gray’s ability and potential.

However, there is an issue. 90min add that Leeds have no intention of selling Gray, who turns 18 in March 2024.

Leeds’ stance is firm. And even if they do decide to sell Gray, Newcastle will face a lot of competition for a man who could be the future of the Magpies’ midfield alongside Lewis Miley.
