Newcastle United may find themselves in a transfer merry-go-round as the Magpies’ name has once again appeared as an interested party for Fenerbahce right-back Ferdi Kadioglu.
It’s not the first time Newcastle have been linked with Ferdi Kadioglu but this one has come from Italian outlet Tuttomercato who claim we could be rivals for Inter Milan for his signature after the Champions League finalists submitted a £15million bid.
Inter see him as the ideal replacement for Denzel Dumfries should he leave this summer. Dumfries is another player who has been linked with Newcastle, which means the Magpies could be a key figure in what happens next.
Fenerbahce want £17million for Ferdi Kadioglu
Fenerbahce rebuffed Inter’s initial bid saying that they won’t listen to offers below £17million which gives Newcastle a chance to come in and beat Inter to the punch, although it will depend on whether they feel that Kadioglu is a better bet than Denzel Dumfries.
Both are outstanding right-backs, but I’d lean more towards Kadioglu based purely on his versatility.
Ferdi Kadioglu started off as a Number 10 and after playing various positions settled on right-back, but he can still play several positions including that Number 10 role as well as a winger on either side of the pitch.
Newcastle shouldn’t waste any more time and get a deal done for Kadioglu
Eddie Howe is looking for a full-back who can cover both flanks, but in Kadioglu he can get that and so much more.
Despite his knack for attacking, Kadioglu is still a fantastic defender with Target Scouting saying he is ‘hard to beat on 1v1s’.
Regarded as one of the best full-backs in his league, if not Europe, the 23-year-old could be an absolute steal at £17million. Inter will be a strong pull for player like Kadioglu so Newcastle should move quickly and get this one done.
