Newcastle United have recently been linked with a move for William Saliba (Daily Mail).
The central defender is supposedly wanted on loan by the Magpies, who are in need of bolstering their backline.
The French youngster spent last season on loan at Nice, where he impressed.
He is yet to make an appearance for the Arsenal first-team.
What Mikel Arteta decides to do with the player remains to be seen. That said, new reports may give an indication of his intentions for him.
According to The Athletic, the Gunners are eyeing a move for Brighton star Ben White.
Arteta, it’s explained, is keen to secure a right-sided defender and White fits the bill.
He would supposedly cost somewhere in the region of £40-50 million.
A signal of Arsenal’s intentions?
Arsenal’s interest in White may well suggest that the Gunners would be willing to send Saliba on loan again.
It is certainly something for Newcastle to keep an eye on.
Saliba’s finish to the 2020/21 season was impressive. He is worth taking a chance on if Arsenal would be willing to let him go.
