Newcastle United are reported to be keen on the possibility of signing Tammy Abraham and Billy Gilmour on loan this summer.

The Northern Echo have claimed the Magpies are looking to turn to the loan market once again following the success they had with Joe Willock.

Apparently, enquiries have already been made by the club as to the availability of Abraham and Gilmour, two players currently on the fringes at Chelsea.

Abraham has seen an alarming lack of minutes since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel, and was recently overlooked completely by the German for the FA Cup final.

Gilmour is still only 19, and so it’s understandable he hasn’t yet forced his way into the starting XI.

Apparently Chelsea don’t really want Gilmour heading out on loan, with Tuchel keen for him to develop with the Blues.

And it is thought they would rather sell Abraham, and value him at £40 million.

Some serious negotiation required

Newcastle would improve greatly if they landed either one of these players this summer.

Really, Abraham is the man they need given the lack of support for Callum Wilson.

Gilmour has great promise, but the midfielder the club should be focusing on bringing in is Willock after his stunning few months at St. James’ Park.
