Newcastle United have reportedly turned their attention to Barcelona winger Ferran Torres as a possibly replacement for Allan Saint-Maximin.
According to Football Transfers, former Manchester City winger Ferran Torres is being discussed as a potential transfer target for Newcastle this summer.
It’s thought that the winger’s style of play fits the style Eddie Howe is looking for and the 23-year-old could be available for a knockdown fee of around £30million after struggling for playing time at Barcelona following his £48million switch in 2022.
Torres will be remembered for what he did when at Manchester City
Newcastle fans likely remember Torres for his hattrick which allowed newly-crowned champions, Manchester City to seal their 4-3 win over the Magpies at St James Park at the end of the 2020/21 season.
Football Transfers suggests that Torres is seen as a replacement for Allan Saint-Maximin suggesting that they feel the Frenchman is heading towards the exit door at Newcastle, but there’s no mention of any interested clubs or potential deals.

Torres wants to stay at Barcelona but could be tempted to move
They also say that Torres wishes to remain at Barcelona but an offer from a Champions League club could persuade him to leave in search of more regular football. Newcastle, of course, are preparing for the Champions League next season and will be looking to add players who have experience playing in that competition.
I hope there’s some truth to this one as I remember Torres for Manchester City and he was incredible. Now with a couple more years experience at another top team, he could be even better.
At potentially £30million it’s not too big of a risk either, especially given that he’s already familiar with the Premier League. Let’s get this one done.
