Newcastle United’s recruitment team are discussing who to target this summer, and they have some very exciting options lined up.

The Magpies are already looking to get their summer off to a fast start, with deals for two centre-backs close. It has been reported that the Lloyd Kelly transfer could be finalised this week, and the same goes for Tosin Adarabioyo.

They look set to be Newcastle’s second and third signings this summer, after Lewis Hall prepares to make his loan move from Chelsea permanent.

He will join Newcastle United for £28million, and now the Magpies are looking at some players who will cost even more than that.

Newcastle recruitment team discuss three exciting targets

That is according to the Telegraph, who have named three players that the Toon recruitment team have talked about possibly signing this summer.

The three players are Pedro Neto, who is valued at £60million, Michael Olise, who has the Premier League best clubs after him, and Eberechi Eze, who has just been named in England’s provisional squad for Euro 2024.

The Telegraph note that all three of those players are the right age profile for Newcastle, with Eze the oldest at 25.

Newcastle saw firsthand what Eberechi Eze can do last month

Out of those three player, Eze is probably the most exciting, but also the most unlikely. While he can play on the left of attack, he is more of an attacking midfielder. That is not really what Newcastle United are after, but the club must have an idea on how to get him into the team if they are talking about trying to sign him.

Eze, who joined Crystal Palace for £19.5million in 2020, probably enhanced his reputation among Toon officials when his side beat Newcastle 2-0 last month. Crystal Palace were fairly dominant against Newcastle, with Eze running the show.

He was absolutely spectacular, proving why the Magpies should have signed him when they had the chance.

That chance could potentially come back around this summer, as Newcastle look at how they can make their squad stronger ahead of next season. Signing Eze from Palace would do exactly that, but it is difficult to envision them pulling off such a deal.

However, perhaps Eze is one to watch, as he prepares for what could potentially be a very exciting summer. He is in Gareth Southgate’s provisional 33-man squad for the Euros, and will hope to make the final 26 when it is announced on June 8th. He could line up alongside current Newcastle United stars Kieran Trippier and Anthony Gordon, who have also been included.
