Newcastle United fans have today been giving their reactions to a claim the club are interested in Timo Werner.
Apparently the Germany international is on the radar of the club’s new owners, according to Sport Bild’s Head of Football Christian Falk.

Werner has been with Chelsea since the summer of 2020.
He arrived at Stamford Bridge for around £48 million (ESPN) and with a huge reputation after scoring 95 goals in 159 games for RB Leipzig.
Up to now though, it’s been a bit of a struggle for the player in England.
He’s scored 14 and made 16 assists for Chelsea to date, but Werner has undoubtedly frustrated at times.
He was very clinical in the Bundesliga, but that cutting edge in front of goal has often deserted him whilst in the blue of Chelsea.

Fans definitely expected a little more from him.
He could well turn things around under Thomas Tuchel, but it will be interesting to see if his patience wears thin in the lead up to the next transfer window.
On social media, some Toon fans have been discussing the idea of Werner signing for Newcastle, amid word from Falk.
The Magpies could do with a new forward, given the lack of quality in reserve beyond Callum Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin.

Some don’t believe Werner is the man Newcastle should be going for, given how he has fared over the past year or so.
But some Toon fans have thrown their backing behind a move, believing he could turn a corner at St. James’ Park.
