Newcastle United are being linked with a move for Roma star Carles Perez.
According to Calciomercato, the Magpies are in negotiations over a loan move with option to buy.
Supposedly, Newcastle have sounded out the Spaniard, who may not get much game time under new head coach Jose Mourinho this season.
Perez has been with Roma since January 20202 and clocked up 48 appearances so far.
But he hasn’t been a nailed-on starter during his time at the club.
Roma are looking to make sales, and are giving consideration to offloading the 23-year-old.
Perez had been on the books at Barcelona prior to his stint in Italy.
His departure from the club came as a real surprise to the player, who is on record as saying he didn’t feel he deserved to be sold (Evening Standard).
On social media, some Toon fans have been giving their reactions to the claim about Perez.
Some would like to see him come in.
Others are not convinced that the club are really after the star, given he naturally operates as a winger, and Bruce’s formation does not suit such players.
