Newcastle United fans have been reacting to a new transfer-related claim today.
The Daily Mail have reported that the club are interested in a potential loan move for William Saliba of Arsenal.
A new central defender is on the agenda for the Magpies this summer.
But funds are tight, and so Newcastle are very much scouring the loan and free agents market.
Saliba is an interesting name.
The Frenchman was signed by the Gunners in the summer of 2019.
He is yet to appear for the club’s first-team, having spent 2019/20 on loan at Saint-Etienne, and 2020/21 with Nice.
Lots of Arsenal fans have been clamouring for Mikel Arteta to put his faith in Saliba.
Whether he wants to do that for 2021/22 remains to be seen.
