Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff is being linked with a surprise loan move to Valencia.
The Daily Mirror have claimed that the Magpies have actually turned down an approach from Los Che, which also included a £15 million buy option.
Longstaff has not been in the best form this season, and currently has 18 months left to run on his contract at St. James’ Park.
The star has been unable to really nail down a place in Steve Bruce’s midfield and has competition in the form of Jonjo Shelvey, Isaac Hayden, Jeff Hendrick and brother Matty Longstaff.
It’s explained that Bruce is reluctant to let the 23-year-old depart and is instead focused on adding to his squad before the transfer deadline passes.
The likes of Joe Willock, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Hamza Choudhury and Olivier Ntcham are all being linked at the moment.
It would be a real surprise if Longstaff was to head for Valencia before tomorrow’s deadline.
He has struggled to show his best this term, and there appears to be a split in opinion on social media.
Some Newcastle fans don’t believe it is worth letting him go and reckon the star has the talent to turn things around.
