Well, there we have it – our fourth signing of the summer has been completed on what was quite a special day for the Magpies.

Following the arrivals of Jeff Hendrick and Mark Gillespie earlier in the window, the St James’ Park faithful waited ages for another new face to arrive on Tyneside while rivals strengthened. Funnily enough, we were handed two of them within hours of each other as Ryan Fraser followed his ex-Bournemouth teammate Callum Wilson up north.

As per the BBC, the 26-year-old has penned a five-year contract, which should see him spend his prime years in black and white –  quite a mouthwatering prospect given his eye-catching haul of seven goals and 14 assists in the Premier League back in the 2018/19 campaign.

The Scotland international will hopefully provide the perfect foil for Allan Saint-Maximin on the flanks, with the duo’s interchangeability out wide potentially providing nightmares for opposition full-backs – Transfermarkt states that the ex-Ipswich man can operate on both wings, while the same goes for our flamboyant No.10 according to their database.

As a result of his aforementioned and quite excellent 2018/19 season, there’s plenty of reason for the Toon Army to get excited over this shrewd piece of business – we know we’re looking forward to seeing what the attacker can do!

Let’s take a look at how some of the Magpies supporters on Twitter are feeling about the 11-cap forward’s arrival…
