Newcastle United fans are getting excited, with Jetro Willems officially leaving Eintracht Frankfurt.
The defender will definitely depart the Bundesliga side on June 30 at the end of his contract, following an official club announcement yesterday.

Willems has been unable to make any appearances for the club since his return from the knee injury that ended his loan spell with Newcastle prematurely.
He had been back in the first-team picture since January, but was not afforded any minutes by manager Adi Hütter.
His exit had therefore been fairly expected, and Newcastle fans have of course been taking a keen interest in the situation.
Willems had been due to spend the entire 2019/20 season at St. James’ Park.
But he suffered a serious knee injury against Chelsea in January which ruled him out for the rest of the campaign.
He headed back to Eintracht shortly after his setback, and speculation has been rife about a potential return for the player ever since.
Bild reported recently that the star is indeed going to rejoin Newcastle.

Willems really endeared himself to the Toon faithful during his few months at the club, putting in some high energy performances from left-back.
Magpies fans have not forgotten the quality he showed, and many are now excited following news of his impending release:
