Newcastle United fans have been expressing their dismay over a report about Matt Ritchie.
The Mirror have claimed that the 31-year-old is now ‘anxious’ to return to his former club Bournemouth.
It’s explained that family reasons are behind Ritchie’s desire to go back to the south coast.
The Ritchie to Bournemouth links have been quite prominent in 2021.
It was reported back in January that Ritchie was set to return to the Vitality Stadium.
But the move was blocked by Steve Bruce, despite the player clearing out is locker on the assumption the move would go through.
Ritchie ended up staying put and had a bust-up with Bruce following the manager’s comments post-Wolves.
Despite that, Ritchie returned to the starting XI to have a huge impact for the Magpies in their Premier League survival bid.
Ritchie is a very popular figure at St. James’ Park.
Fans have been reacting to the report that he is now anxious to move back to Bournemouth.
Predictably, many would be absolutely gutted to see the player leave given the leadership and passion he brings to the table.
