The latest name to be linked with a move to Newcastle is Emmanuel Dennis.
The rumours aren’t too solid, with the only claim coming from Eurosport reporter Manu Lonjon. He stated on Twitter that the Magpies have made a bit, but those claims have been disputed by Lee Ryder.
However, this hasn’t stopped fans discussing whether he’d be a good fit or not for Steve Bruce’s side.
With obscene pace going forwards, the 22-year-old would really suit our counterattacking style. He’s versatile too, capable of playing anywhere across the front.
But this is where the problems start for some Toon fans. They said the same about Joelinton when he arrived. The Brazilian often played out wide for Hoffenheim, but has been tasked with leading the line every week for the Magpies.
And Dennis’ goal record isn’t spectacular either. The £25m-rated forward did score two against Real Madrid in the Champions League, but there was a huge slice of luck involved in both goals.
Overall this season, Dennis has managed eight goals in 26 games, with just five coming in the league. Is he prolific enough to change our fortunes? Some fans aren’t convinced.
Talk of a move for Dennis doesn’t excite some Toon fans
