According to the Northern Echo, Newcastle star Allan Saint-Maximin is wanted by Roma.
The Serie A side are set to be managed by Jose Mourinho next season, and ‘the special one’ has identified the Frenchman as one of his targets.
Saint-Maximin is Newcastle’s talisman. So many times this season we’ve relied on him for moments of magic. And so many times he’s delivered.
He was the match-winner against Burnley last month, coming off the bench to get an assist and a goal.

Saint-Maximin has proven he’s not just a show pony. His end product has improved.
With how he’s been playing, it’s no surprise that other clubs are keen.
Roma’s interest is certainly concerning. However, they are not as attractive as they once were.
As it stands, Roma will have to settle for competing in next season’s Europa Conference League. There will be no Champions League football for Mourinho.

However, the chance to work with the three-time Premier League winner might be of interest for Saint-Maximin.
He cost £16.5million in 2019, and signed a new long-term deal with the Magpies last year. It will cost a lot of money to prize ASM away from St James’ Park.
However, that has not stopped Toon fans worrying that their main creative spark could leave this summer.
