There is a possibility that Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin could leave the club this month, according to Sky Sports journalist Keith Downie.
Speaking with GiveMeSport, the reporter claimed he cannot rule out the 25-year-old exiting St James’ Park in January.
“If Saint-Maximin goes – and I think there’s a possibility of that – and they manage to get some money for him, I think they could go out and buy someone,” said Downie.

The Magpies have been linked with numerous attackers over the past few months.
Following Downie’s claim, this could allow the Toon to bring in a transfer target without breaching Financial Fair Play.
Newcastle could sell Saint-Maximin
Although the Toon have succeeded without the winger in the starting line-up this season, he still plays an important role for Eddie Howe’s side.
With a big push for a spot in the top-four and Champions League qualification, Newcastle will need all the quality squad options they can get.
If injuries crop up, or even if players require a rest and thus need rotating, keeping the likes of Saint-Maximin at St James’ Park will prove to be hugely beneficial.

The Frenchman, who has been hailed as ‘unplayable’ by Everton manager Frank Lampard, has the speed and skill needed to make a massive impact off the bench. When the side need a goal, Howe can turn to the 25-year-old for his immediate contribution.
However, he can always win his position back in the starting XI, as he has shown he is more than capable of competing at the top level since arriving at the Toon for £20m in 2019.
Therefore, Newcastle should look to keep Saint-Maximin on Tyneside this month.
