The January transfer window is some weeks away from opening, but Newcastle United have been linked with a fair few players already.

One of the players Newcastle are keen on is Geovany Quenda. Eddie Howe’s side are also interested in Jonathan David.

Newcastle are interested in Jonathan Tah, too. The Magpies are scouting Kenneth Taylor of Ajax as well.

Another player Newcastle are now being linked with is Ibrahim Maza.

If Hertha Berlin fail to get promoted to the Bundesliga at the end of the season, then they could have to sell the 18-year-old wonderkid for €10-20 million (£8.35-£16.70 million).

Who is Ibrahim Maza?

Maza is one of the best young players in the second tier of German football.

The 18-year-old forward has been on the books of Hertha since 2018. After coming through the German club’s youth academy, he has established himself in the first team.

Maza has played predominately as a central midfielder this season. The teenager has also operated in an attacking midfield role.

In fact, on two occasions, the 18-year-old has been deployed as a centre-forward, which shows how versatile he is.

Maza has made 12 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga so far this season. He has scored three goals and given one assist in those games.

The youngster turned out for the Germany Under-18, Under-19 and Under-20 sides before deciding to switch his allegiance to Algeria. He has played once for The Greens.
