Benjamin Sesko is on Newcastle United’s radar as a potential replacement for Alexander Isak, but the club may not be fully convinced about the RB Leipzig forward.
Newcastle are interested in Sesko but Geordie Boot Boys understands that there is a feeling within football that the Slovenia international will instead join Manchester United.
That would complete an embarrassing hat-trick for the Red Devils over Newcastle. Despite coming off their worst season in over 30 years, they have already beaten Eddie Howe’s side to the signings of both Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.
Still, and while Sesko is rated at St James’ Park, there may be some doubts about him from those inside the club.

Newcastle United have doubts over Benjamin Sesko
According to iNews, Newcastle have concerns over Sesko’s price tag.
RB Leipzig want up to £70million for Sesko, which is a similar price to what Liverpool paid for Newcastle target Hugo Ekitike.
There is a belief, however, that Sesko requires more coaching than the Frenchman, making the demand rather high.
Either way, the report again relays that there is a feeling Old Trafford will be Sesko’s next destination anyway.
If Newcastle United doubt Benjamin Sesko, they cannot sign him
The worst thing Newcastle could do is sign an Alexander Isak replacement for the sake of it and then allow the Sweden international to join Liverpool.
If Newcastle get this wrong, they could be knocked back years. PSR does not allow clubs like Newcastle to make many poor decisions in the transfer market.
While PIF haven’t covered themselves in glory in recent months, one thing is for certain. They have rarely made a misstep in the transfer market.
If the recruitment team do not think Sesko is worth it, then they have to be backed. Signing him just because he’s a big name to potentially replace Isak would be throwing a lot of money at a problem for the wrong reasons.
The optics of missing out on Sesko would be awful given the context of this summer. However, Newcastle aren’t in a position to gamble and perhaps Manchester United will get something of a clear run.
