With his contract at Liverpool expiring this summer, Adam Lallana is a man in demand.
The Telegraph reported late last year that Newcastle were interested in signing the midfielder, but were aware he may wait until the summer.
However, it’s Leicester City who have made the first move.
According to Sky Sports, the Foxes have approached Lallana’s representatives, as they look to steal a march on other interested clubs.
Leicester seem perfectly placed to sign the England international compared to Newcastle.
They’re in an excellent position, looking all but certain to secure Champions League football next season. On top of that, Lallana worked with Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool.
In contrast, Newcastle are trying to avoid being sucked into a relegation battle, playing some of the bleakest football the Premier League has to offer.
Sky add that Lallana will consider all of his options before making a decision. Various other teams have been linked, such as Arsenal and Tottenham.
But if it was a straight fight between Leicester and Newcastle, I know where I’d go if I was him…
