Leeds United fans have made their feelings clear as they aim to sign Sean Longstaff from Newcastle United.
It was reported earlier this year that Sean Longstaff is expected to leave Newcastle United, and that could now become a reality.
Leeds are close to signing Longstaff, with the newly-promoted Premier League side already agreeing personal terms with the 27-year-old. An offer of £12million has been submitted, which would go down as pure profit for Newcastle United.
That is because Longstaff is a product of the Magpies’ academy, and a sale would massively help improve the club’s PSR position.

For Leeds United, signing Longstaff will give them much-needed Premier League experience.
That is the view of Leeds United fans on X, who have given their verdict on the midfielder potentially arriving at Elland Road.
One fan wrote: “The more you look at the Longstaff deal, the better it appears. £12million for an experienced Premier League player. Ranks highly for touches, tackles and especially blocks. Not flashy, but something we don’t have.”
A second Leeds supporter added: “Longstaff is so underrated and is a perfect experienced player. Box to box midfielder who likes making late runs into the box, right signing and is what will keep you up.”
Another fan noted: “If he was called Longstaffiniho and he was Brazilian you’d be all over this. Guys got so much Prem experience and even Champions League experience. Great addition to the midfield.”

Leeds United fans should take note of what Sandro Tonali said about Sean Longstaff
For the Leeds United fans who are still not convinced about signing Longstaff, they should look no further than what Sandro Tonali recently said about Longstaff.
During a quickfire questions segment in an interview, Tonali was asked to name his most underrated teammate ever. The Italy international did not hesitate, immediately picking out Longstaff.
The Geordie midfielder has fallen out of favour at St James’ Park, but that says more about the players who are ahead of him in the pecking order. In Tonali, Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton, Newcastle United arguably have the Premier League’s best midfield.
But it was not too long ago that Longstaff was a consistent starter for Eddie Howe, and his experience should help Leeds United’s bid to survive in the top flight.
If they do complete a deal, they are getting an exceptional professional. He might not be particularly flash, but he is the type of player you need in the middle of the park.
