According to Steve Bruce, Miguel Almiron is ‘arguably’ Newcastle’s best player.
But he might not be for much longer. That’s because there are claims that Arsenal and Inter Milan are interested in signing the 26-year-old.
The rumour comes from Almiron’s native Paraguay, with broadcaster Luis Enrique Perez tweeting: “Miguel Almiron of GRAN management in English football and member of the Paraguay national team is in the interest of the Arsenal of England and the Inter of Italy.”

Should we take this Almiron claim seriously?
Tthe fact it has come from Almiron’s own country is certainly interesting. However, it’s yet to be reported anywhere else.
At this stage, it’s a rumour worth taking with a pinch of salt.
But it does the beg question – do we need to worry about a bigger club snapping up Miggy?
The £21million man has been a Newcastle player for just over a year, endearing himself to the fans with his incredible pace an energy.
His attitude is second to none, and he’s started adding end product to his game. Almiron has been a menace in the FA Cup, scoring four goals so far. Combine that with his two in the league and he’s got six altogether to make him Newcastle’s top scorer.
We’re very lucky to have Almiron, and he could certainly play at a higher level.
But would Inter Milan take a punt on him considering they’ve got a squad full up of Premier League veterans?
As for Arsenal, he’d certainly fit in with the style Mikel Arteta is trying to implement there.
For now, Almiron is a Newcastle player and hopefully that stays true past the summer and beyond.
