Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi is a Newcastle United transfer target this summer.

Indeed, Newcastle are considering a move for Adeyemi as a potential alternative to Nottingham Forest star Anthony Elanga.

Geordie Boot Boys understands that Newcastle have had a £45million bid for Elanga rejected by Nottingham Forest, who value the player at more than £60million.

As such, Adeyemi is thought to have emerged as a potential alternative.

Still, the German international has already made a U-turn on his future.

Karim Adeyemi wants to stay at Borussia Dortmund

Back in May, Sky Sports Germany claimed the forward was leaning towards staying at Borussia Dortmund, having snubbed a move to Napoli in January.

It was suggested he was open to a move to England amid interest from Newcastle and others, but now he’s ready to extend his contract with the German giants.

Dortmund, meanwhile, are considering extending his deal, which expires in the summer of 2027.

What is Karim Adeyemi’s style of play?

Adeyemi has been tracked as one of the fastest players in Bundesliga history, though that’s not all he’s got to his game.

Speaking back in 2021, former Germany manager Hansi Flick described the 23-year-old as having the potential to be “ice cold” in front of goal after speaking about his side’s 6-0 win over Armenia.

“He’s already shown at the start of this season that he can be ice cold in front of goal,” said Flick.

“He did really well today when he came in.”

Last season, the former Red Bull Salzburg forward scored 12 goals while registering nine assists in 38 appearances across all competitions.

Interestingly, Adeyemi played in a number of attacking positions last season, which looks to be another positive to potentially signing him.

He played up front, as a support striker and on both wings during the 2024/25 campaign, registering goals and assists from all of those positions.

Eddie Howe values players with versatility and Adeyemi would appear to have that in abundance.

Sadly, however, it seems they may have a fight on their hands to convince him to leave Dortmund.
