Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Hull City youngster Jacob Greaves.

The Telegraph have claimed the Magpies are monitoring the 20-year-old talent, who has made a really bright start for the Tigers in 2020/21.

Greaves has made 12 starts in League One so far, and his performances have started to attract attention.

The left-footed centre-half, who had a productive loan spell at Cheltenham Town last term, could well appeal to the Magpies given there is seemingly very little cash to spend this month.

He is supposedly valued at around £1 million (Daily Mail), which may be a temptation for Steve Bruce.

At the moment, Ciaran Clark’s contract expires in the summer and the club need to prepare to replace him.

It’s being reported that he could yet extend, but the player may well decide to run down his deal and leave in a free.

Greaves could potentially be a decent addition – him being left-footed is certainly a positive.

On social media, some Hull fans have been giving their reactions to Newcastle’s reported interest, and they aren’t taking the links to their young star too well:
