Newcastle United have become the talk of the transfer window in the last week with as many as three key players being linked with moves away.

Although they are adamant that they do not need to sell anyone in January, interest remains in Kieran Trippier, Callum Wilson and Miguel Almiron who all could still leave the club.

According to a report from the Northern Echo, Al-Shabab remain hopeful that they can secure Almiron in January despite the fact Newcastle rejected their first bid.

Newcastle man could still leave in January

Almiron is a key figure in the Newcastle team starting most games when he’s fit and playing an effective role in the high intensity and high pressing style that Eddie Howe loves so much.

It’s believed that the Paraguayan himself isn’t too keen on the move given how settled he now is in the North East where he only just signed a new contract last season.

But if Newcastle are to receive a suitable offer for the 29-year-old there’s every chance that they could accept it in the hopes there will be enough time left in the window to reinvest it back into the squad.

Sky previously reported that Almiron is the most likely of the three aforementioned Newcastle players to be sold this month and clearly the Saudi Pro League haven’t been put off by the Magpie’s initial rejection.

Newcastle won’t force Almiron to leave

While they may be keen to move the player on if they can receive an acceptable fee, there is still the personal element that Newcastle will have to consider with Almiron.

If reports are true that the winger doesn’t want to relocate his young family to Saudi Arabia then it’s very likely the club won’t force him to make the move after all he has given the club.

Almiron is still a fan favourite in terms of the energy that he brings to the team, even despite his bad run of form in front of goal, but there is a growing sense that the team needs to move on.

Newcastle are certain to want a new right-winger in the summer if a new one isn’t signed in January, but Almiron could be the perfect backup for whoever comes in, so the club will have a big decision to make very soon.
