Reported Newcastle target Gini Wijnaldum had another night to forget in a Paris Saint-Germain shirt last night, as the Ligue 1 leaders played out a 1-1 draw with Lyon.
The Netherlands midfielder was making his 24th appearance of the season for the French giants.

Strangely, Mauricio Pochettino deployed the 31-year-old in a right wing position.
That did him no favours at all, and Wijnaldum’s display left the French media far from impressed.
GFFN gave him a 3/10, making him the joint-worst performer in the game.
They said of him: “Not far off a 2. Completely anonymous and seemed unsure as to what his role was in a more advanced position than he’s used to. His move has been a disaster so far.”
Since joining PSG in the summer, Wijnaldum has struggled.

The star has a lot of competition for the position he plays naturally.
He is not a regular in the middle, with Marco Verratti, Leandro Paredes, Ander Herrera and Idrissa Gueye all vying for minutes as well.
It is little wonder there is talk of him leaving the club this month.
The latest claim is that Newcastle are preparing to make a loan-to-buy offer for the ex-Liverpool man (Jeunes Footeux).
Perhaps, as he continues to wilt at the Parc des Princes, this is a move he now needs as much as Newcastle.
Could Newcastle make successful swoop for Gini Wijnaldum this week?
Newcastle are in dire need of new recruits all throughout the starting XI.
Central midfield is very underwhelming right now, with people like Joe Willock and Sean Longstaff just not performing.
Newcastle need to bring someone in who can make an impact.
It isn’t working out for Wijnaldum in France, and now could be the ideal time for the Magpies to swoop for their former player.

Wijnaldum is supposedly open to returning to the Premier League (Sky Sports).
Maybe he’ll be tempted to return to St. James’ Park on loan. He’s a leader, and Newcastle need as many of those as possible right now.
