Allan Saint-Maximin has certainly been on quite the journey since leaving Newcastle United.
Saint-Maximin was a popular figure at Newcastle, proving a rare shining light during the otherwise pretty bleak Steve Bruce era.
The Frenchman, however, lost his place under Eddie Howe and ultimately left to join Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli.
Howe loved working with Saint-Maximin at Newcastle but a move away was a necessary sale at the time
Still, the Saudi experiment only lasted a season before Saint-Maximin joined Turkish giants Fenerbahce on loan last summer.
Now, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the former Newcastle star could be on the move again.

Interestingly, the 27-year-old now looks set to make a return to Europe’s big leagues.
Having worked under Jose Mourinho in Istanbul, Saint-Maximin could soon join another of the game’s most high-profile managers in Antonio Conte.
According to Romano on social media platform X, Napoli have made contact with the Saudi side over a potential loan move.
Conte’s side sit top of Serie A as things stand, meaning Saint-Maximin could soon have his hands on what would be the first trophy of his career.
How much was Allan Saint-Maximin sold for by Newcastle United?
Newcastle sold Saint-Maximin for £23million which, in an all honesty, isn’t a huge amount of money.
Yes, the winger did have his off days but could produce something out of nothing, which was hugely important during the Bruce years.
To say Newcastle have missed him, however, would perhaps be too much.
Anthony Gordon is starring on the left for Newcastle now and produces much more in the way of end product.
Saint-Maximin was a fine player for Newcastle at the time but that did eventually pass.
Still, it’d be fantastic to see him strutting his stuff at one of Europe’s biggest teams.
