Allan Saint-Maximin’s move to Al Ahli has taken another step closer to completion as Fabrizio Romano issues update on Twitter.
Newcastle United‘s first major outgoing transfer is edging closer to completion as Fabrizio Romano conforms that Saudi Pro-League side Al Ahli have booked a medical for the 26-year-old winger.
Romano states that Saint-Maximin will become Al-Ahli’s priority once they officially tie up the deal for Manchester City‘s Riyad Mahrez with his tweet saying: “Al Ahli have booked medical tests for Allan Saint-Maximin — as deal will be completed after Mahrez.”
Saint-Maximin is now just a medical away from becoming an Al Ahli player
The fee for Allan Saint-Maximin hasn’t yet been confirmed but The Daily Mail claim it will be around £30million which is the same as Al Ahli are paying for Mahrez.
Saint-Maximin will absolutely breeze through the Al Ahli medical if it involves running up hills or jogging on a treadmill in full kit.

Newcastle will immediately plug the gap left by Allan Saint-Maximin with Harvey Barnes from Leicester City who was on Tyneside yesterday putting the finishing touches onto his move.
It’s thought that Saint-Maximin’s move will unlock a considerable amount of play space within the FFP constrictions for Newcastle with Barnes tipped to be followed closely through the door by Tino Livramento from Southampton.
Newcastle still have a few more squad places to strengthen
There are still a few positions that Eddie Howe would like more cover for and it’s now understood that should they land Livramento as well as Barnes, Newcastle will turn their attention towards the loan market for further reinforcements.

A left-back still seems to be a high priority for Howe with a rumour circulating that Newcastle were now interested in a loan move for Chelsea‘s young full-back, Lewis Hall, however, as yet only NUFCBlog have run with the story and no other publications have picked it up as yet.
There’s a lot of hope among the fanbase on Twitter that the links to Lewis Hall are true as he is an outstanding young player who proved his quality both times he faces off against Newcastle last season.
