It’s not all about departures at Newcastle United right now.

Newcastle are reluctantly selling Yankuba Minteh and it now seems he’s destined to join Premier League rivals, Brighton.

While not everyone at the club are thought to be on board with his potential departure, it seems like a necessary step in order to comply with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability (PSR) rules.

Eddie Howe did also not want to lose Elliot Anderson but it appears as if the 21-year-old has agreed a move to Nottingham Forest.

It has been a whirlwind few hours at St James’ Park but there does at least seem to be an incoming on the horizon, too.

Fabrizio Romano has now shared the latest as the club close in on their second signing of the summer following the arrival of Lloyd Kelly.

He has revealed that Forest goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos has accepted a move to Newcastle and a medical has now been booked for the 30-year-old.

Romano credits the Daily Mail with the first call about the news and their report suggests the ‘keeper will join Newcastle as part of the deal to take Anderson to the City Ground.

Newcastle now have a replacement for two players

Newcastle have been tracking the signing of a goalkeeper all summer, with Burnley’s James Trafford understood to have been a leading target.

While it remains unclear as to whether or not the Vlachodimos deal will have any impact on that particular pursuit, it does at least answer another reasonably pressing need in terms of backing up Nick Pope.

Martin Dubravka will reportedly be allowed to leave the club, while Loris Karius has already been released.

If it really is part of the Anderson deal, Vlachodimos could be helping replace Karius while helping the midfielder and Dubravka depart.
