Newcastle United striker Elias Sorensen is set to leave the club this summer.
The 21-year-old has entered into the final year of his contract with the Magpies, but it seems he’s not going to be sticking around beyond the current transfer window.

According to JydskeVestkysten, Sorensen is to pen a four-year contract with Esberg back in his homeland of Denmark.
Sorensen first starting to catch the eye at Newcastle in the 2018/19 season.
The youngster scored 16 goals, which led to calls for Rafa Benitez to call him up into the first-team.
Goalscoring was an issue at that point, but the Spaniard refrained from turning to Sorensen.

The following season he had a loan spell with Blackpool.
He hardly featured there, and was then sent to Carlisle United at the start of the 2019/20 season, but was again recalled early when he didn’t play much.
And last term, he went on loan to Dutch club Almere City.
It seems Steve Bruce, like Benitez, just doesn’t see enough in Sorensen to suggest he can make an impact for the first-team.
Sorensen couldn’t quite make the push
It is a shame Sorensen is heading back to his homeland given how promising he looked at one point.
Fans had really high hopes for him only a couple of years ago.
It seems that the spell at Blackpool really didn’t do him any favours.

That should have been the place for him to kick on and instead, it arguably contributed to a regression.
Sadly it hasn’t worked out, but hopefully he will find success with his return to Denmark.
