Eddie Howe has now shared whether or not he thinks any Newcastle United players will be leaving the club this month.
It’s probably been one of the most uneventful transfer windows not just for Newcastle but for the whole Premier League in recent memory with only a few big deals being completed.
Newcastle have had a fair share of players linked with moves to and away from the club, but Howe claimed on TNT Sports after the win against Aston Villa that nobody is expected to leave.
Howe happy with his current Newcastle squad
There were fears that one of Kieran Trippier, Callum Wilson and Miguel Almiron could leave in the last couple of weeks as it emerged that multiple clubs were after the trio.
While there is still time for someone to submit a late bid, it now looks like all three will be staying on Tyneside at least for the next six months, much to the delight of their manager.
As much as Howe wants to bring in some fresh legs to add depth to an already talented squad, the 46-year-old also doesn’t want to lose this core group who he trusts so much already and has faith in to recapture their best form.
When asked if there would be anyone leaving the club in the next couple of days, Howe was very confirm on his stance that he’s ‘more than happy’ to work with what he’s currently got and doesn’t expect something to change.
After the game, Howe said: “I don’t know. I don’t think so at this late stage. I would be more than happy for the window to shut with no ins or outs.”

Newcastle’s most important task is getting players fit
Newcastle have had spend so much time without the likes of Harvey Barnes, Joe Willock and Elliot Anderson this season that when they return from injury it will feel like new signings anyway.
Barnes especially as the £39m winger only featured six times in the Premier League before he was ruled out for a number of months after picking up an unfortunate foot injury in the 8-0 win at Sheffield United.
Willock is very similar after recovering from a hamstring injury from last season, playing a handful of games in November and then suffering yet another injury, this time to his Achilles, and has been out ever since.
Howe claims that the pair will return to the squad soon but judging by his track record in press conferences that could mean they are missing until 2025.
