Newcastle United have been keeping an eye on the Raphinha situation at Barcelona with the narrative changing weekly as to whether or not the Spanish side will sell this summer.
Raphinha moved to Barcelona from Leeds United for £55million in the summer and after a slow start is finally starting to find his feet in Spain.
Reports from SPORT claim that the Barca will now be willing to listen to offers for Raphinha and Ansu Fati, both of which have been linked to Newcastle recently.
Barcelona need to sell this summer and Newcastle could take advantage
Barcelona need to sell some high-profile players this summer to balance the books after the club found itself in massive financial difficulties.
Arsenal are also keeping tabs on the Raphinha situation which could complicate matters for Eddie Howe if he is genuinely interested in making a move for the 26-year-old Brazilian.

Raphinha absolutely tore the Premier League apart in his Leeds United days leading to his former teammate, Kalvin Phillips to hail him as ‘unbelievable‘. He’d be a fantastic addition to Howe’s Newcastle squad, especially if we’re competing in the Champions League next season. We need reinforcements across the board and if we can snap up players with Champions League experience then all the better.
Arsenal could prove to be strong competition for Raphinha’s signature
Newcastle have been linked with a move for Wilfried Zaha on a free, and as good a deal as that would be, I’d rather we spent a bit of money and went for Raphinha. I think he’d add more to the squad than Zaha would, not to mention the fact that he’s four years younger and potentially not even hit his peak yet.
Whether we could convince the Brazilian to join us over Arsenal is a different story, especially of Mikel Arteta guides the Gunners to the Premier League title this season.
