Arsenal are now presenting as a bit of an obstacle as they look to sign a striker who has been on the radar of Newcastle United for some time.
Arsenal have already shown interest in signing Alexander Isak this summer which is not exactly brilliant news for Newcastle, but as an alternative they are looking at one of their attacking targets.
According to a report from Mirror Sport, the Premier League have compiled a 10-man shortlist to replace Gabriel Jesus, and there’s a couple of options there which will certainly frustrate Newcastle.
Arsenal chasing ‘incredible’ 20-year-old striker
Newcastle first showed interest in Benjamin Sesko well over a year ago before he made the move to Bundesliga side RB Leipzig where he could be leaving after less than 12 months there.
The Slovenian international is one of the hottest striking prospects in Europe and certainly won’t be short of any suitors with both Newcastle and Arsenal supposedly rivalling for his signature.
The ‘incredible’ striker has seven goals in 23 league games this season and at such a young age is showing a lot of promise for the future.
What he would bring to Newcastle is another good threat in the air, the ability to play with either foot and great tactical awareness which has served him well so far in his young career.
It’s understood that he could cost around £55m which may be a decent chunk of Newcastle’s budget but it’s an area that needs improving.

Newcastle desperate for a new striker
With Callum Wilson now expected to leave the club in the summer, Newcastle would be left with just one out and out striker in Alexander Isak who himself has struggled with a number of injuries.
An investment must be made for a new striker and ideally a young one who can grow and develop with the club and help to support Isak who often looks like he’s given his all during games.
It may be difficult to have two attacking players who will both want key minutes when Eddie Howe only likes to play with one striker, but it’s something that he’s going to have to learn to deal with if he wants to be one of the top managers in Europe.
