Newcastle United continue to admire Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay, according to Daily Mail journalist Craig Hope.
However, he also reports that the Red Devils want to keep the 26-year-old at Old Trafford.

The Scotsman is currently under contract until 2025, and the club have the option of extending this by a further 12 months.
This follows reports in the summer, which suggested the Magpies actually made contact with Man United over a potential move. Despite this, a transfer was quickly rebuffed.
Newcastle remain interested in McTominay
Erik ten Hag hopes to keep hold of the midfielder, as he proves to be a useful rotation option.
The Scotland international has played 19 times for United this season, during which he has bagged two goals and one assist.
In the League Cup this term, McTominay has averaged an impressive four tackles, 3.5 clearances, and a single key pass, block and dribble per game.
Hailed by TalkSPORT pundit Danny Murphy as a ‘destroyer’ in the midfield, the 26-year-old is certainly a solid Premier League player.

However, with Newcastle pushing for Champions League qualification, the club should be looking at better alternatives.
Whether that be younger prospects or players already of a higher quality, the Magpies can definitely attract an exceptional-standard midfielder. McTominay isn’t better than any of the Toon players in Eddie Howe’s first-team squad.
