23-year-old player will now turn down moves to other clubs if Newcastle bid

Newcastle United now have their eye on 23-year-old Argentine forward Benjamin Rollheiser from Estudiantes.

According to Alan Nixon (via his Patreon) Newcastle have been keeping a close eye on Benjamin Rollheiser after the young forward had an excellent season for Estudiantes.

With Eddie Howe potentially looking at more forward options, Rollheister could be a good move for Newcastle. Nixon not only believes that £12million would seal the deal but also that if Newcastle were to come in with a firm offer, that would be his preferred destination.

Rollheiser would prefer a move to the Premier League over offers on the table

CSKA Moscow and Zenit St Petersburg have both lodged bids of around £12million but Rollheiser has his eye on playing in the Premier League giving Newcastle a huge advantage were they to make a move.

Rollheiser bagged 11 goals and five assists in all competitions for Estudiantes last season, a vast improvement on his solitary goal the season before. Prior to his move to Estudiantes, Rollheiser was part of the River Plate team that won the league in 2018/19 and two cups in the 2020/21 season in Argentina.

It’s difficult to determine what is his natural position with Estudiantes having used him in seven different midfield positions last season. He covered right wing, centre forward, second striker, attacking midfield, central midfield, defensive midfield and left-midfield.

Due to his low price and versatility Rollheiser would be a great signing for Newcastle

Essentially, Newcastle could get themselves a player who is 23, has three winners medals, can play literally anywhere in the midfield and attack and knows where the goal is, all for around £12million.

What are we waiting for? I mean, I know the Premier League is a big step up from the Argentine league, but if he’s given time to settle and time to adapt to the Eddie Howe way, he could be a very useful asset indeed. Even if he’s currently nowhere near our level, Eddie Howe can improve any player.

I hope there’s some truth to this one as, on paper at least, he very much looks the part and could be a massive bargain for Newcastle.
