Newcastle United are reportedly set to sign Yankuba Minteh from Odense BK.
The 18-year-old winger has been linked with a move to Newcastle since April, when it was claimed that a deal between the Magpies and the Danish club was close.
Minteh has since stated his desire to sign for Eddie Howe’s side, despite his international manager suggesting that it might not be a wise decision.
However, it looks like Minteh is set to ignore that advice and become a Newcastle United player.
Newcastle set to sign Yankuba Minteh
According to BT, Minteh is extremely close to signing for Newcastle. They state that the Magpies are going to pay £5.8million for the teenager.

The report adds that the deal is dependent on Minteh passing a medical, and that Newcastle already have plans for what to do with the Gambian forward.
Newcastle will reportedly loan him out next season so that he can gain more experience. Where he will be sent to remains unclear, but it may depend on whether or not Minteh is eligible for a work permit to play in the United Kingdom.
Minteh has made 17 league appearances for Odense this season, scoring four goals and providing six assists. However, it looks like he has now played his final game, with the youngster set to sit out their next match with Midtjylland on Saturday.
One for the future
Assuming a deal gets done, this is a typical Dan Ashworth signing. He is always looking for young players who can be snapped up now before they truly explode. He did it brilliantly at Brighton, and will hope to do the same at Newcastle.
We have already seen one example, with Newcastle beating a host of major clubs to the signature of Garang Kuol. Now the Magpies are closing in on another exciting young winger, with Minteh set to become a Toon player.
