Newcastle United have released the first picture of Amanda Staveley inside St James’ Park.

The takeover was completed on Thursday, confirming the end of the Mike Ashley era.

Staveley and her husband Mehrdad Ghodoussi arrived at St James’ Park on Friday, meeting the club staff for the first time.

On top of that, the pair posed for an official club picture that has delighted Toon fans.

The club posted the picture on their official Twitter account alongside the caption ‘Welcome to Newcastle United!’.

Toon fans are loving the picture, as they begin to get to grips with the fact that Ashley is no longer in charge of the club.

This is the start of a bright new era for Newcastle, and the new owners have big plans.

However, one thing that won’t be changing just yet is the Sports Direct advertising at St James’ Park.

According to Athletic reporter George Caulkin, the red and blue advertising boards will remain where they are in the short-term as part of the deal with Ashley.

While that is disappointing, at least it’s another thing to look forward to…

Despite this, the picture of Staveley and Ghodoussi has been framed so that you can’t see the Sports Direct signs on the roof of the East Stand.

Eagle-eyed Toon fans have noticed this tiny detail, and they absolutely love it.
