Arsenal’s highly regarded young winger Xavier Amaechi is said to be considering his future at the Gunners, as he approaches the final year of his current contract.

He is exactly the type of player Newcastle should be looking to bring in to their squad – especially if Mike Ashley is wanting to continue with his youth-only transfer policy.

The Daily Mirror claim Amaechi was extremely disappointed at being the only player left out of the Europa League Final squad.

Unai Emery preferred to have two goalkeepers on the bench, rather than include the talented teenager.

The report adds that the English hot prospect is seriously considering moving away to further his career ambitions, and get more first team opportunities elsewhere.

With many top clubs likely to be interested – even more so if he becomes a free agent next summer – Newcastle should tempt the Gunners with a good offer for the player.

Newcastle could use Woodman as part of a player plus cash deal

It is known that Arsenal are keen admirers of Newcastle young goalkeeper Freddie Woodman, and rumours were rife that they were interested in luring him to the Emirates – where his father is a coach.

If Woodman continues to resist signing a new deal on Tyneside, then Newcastle could offer the England Under-21, plus cash, in a bid to tempt Arsenal to sell Amaechi before his contract expires next year.

He would be a fantastic capture for Newcastle if they were able to bring him to Toon, particularly with Newcastle wanting to strengthen their wing positions.

We think Rafa Benitez – if he opts to stay – should be looking to do a deal for a player that can only get better as he matures.
