Rolando Aarons is back at Newcastle.

The winger’s short term loan at Wycombe Wanderers came to an end this weekend, with his final game spent sitting on the bench as his side lost 4-0 to Sunderland.

Despite dropping down to League One, it seems as though Aarons wasn’t used as much as you would expect. This is a player who has impressed in flashes in the Premier League, who seemed desperate to play first-team football.

Aarons played just 10 times for Wycombe, and is back in limbo after returning to Newcastle. He can’t play in the FA Cup tomorrow night as he’s cup tied due to playing in the first round for the Chairboys.

It seems unlikely that he’ll force his way into Steve Bruce’s Premier League squad, so another departure from the north east seems likely.

But after his departure from Wycombe was confirmed, fans of the League One outfit were all saying the same thing: Why didn’t he play more?

Wycombe fans wish Aarons all the best
