Steve Bruce is said to have resigned from his post as Sheffield Wednesday manager, according to a report in the Northern Echo and a Tweet from Times’ football writer Paul Joyce.
It is an acrimonious end to his short spell in charge at the Hillsborough club, and has left a bitter taste in the mouths of fans, who are questioning his morals.
It is a slap in the face for Wednesday, and their owner, Dejphon Chansiri, given that he was gentlemanly enough to allow Bruce to have time off in January before taking the reigns.
After the loss of both his parents in a short space of time, and recovery from surgery, Bruce was allowed to delay his start, and was pictured watching the England Cricket Team’s test match in Barbados.

Steve Bruce resignation will have a negative response from fans of both clubs
He did a great job at the Owls when he did start, and their fans were hoping for a promotion push next season, having had half a shout of making the play-offs last term.

But his latest move has left Wednesday in limbo ahead of the new season, and his resignation, and the timing of it, has received an angry reaction, with many Newcastle fans have reacted by questioning the principles of a man who could do such a thing.
