Newcastle United take on Burnley this weekend, as they seek to pull further away from the Premier League relegation zone.
Results last weekend meant the Magpies now have a three-point lead over 18th-placed Fulham, who lost to Aston Villa.
Bruce’s side managed to draw with Tottenham Hotspur, which was more than a fair result in the end with Newcastle showing the heart that has been missing in recent weeks.
It’s Burnley away on Sunday for Newcastle, and it’s a great chance to pick up three points.
The reverse fixture remains one of Newcastle’s most impressive showings in 2020/21, with Callum Wilson scoring twice and Allan Saint-Maximin also getting on the scoresheet.
Frenchman Saint-Maximin came off the bench against Spurs following his recent groin injury, and Wilson has yet to return since his injury against Southampton.
But the English striker has been back in training, and is surely in contention to play.
Bruce will be tempted
Bruce will no doubt be tempted to start Saint-Maximin and Wilson against the Clarets given how both were instrumental in the game back in October.
Dyche’s side just couldn’t live with them at St. James’ Park, with the pair even assisting one another in the game as well.
BBC Sport’s match report branded Saint-Maximin ‘the game’s outstanding player’ and ‘unplayable at times’.
If Wilson isn’t quite ready, then Saint-Maximin at least needs throwing in from the start.
