Steve Bruce was giving his pre-match press conference, during which he claimed it is too soon to think about changing his preferred Newcastle formation, amid growing concern from fans.
Many fans have called for changes, and Bruce admitted he may tweak some things on Sunday, but some were hoping he would abandon his three centre-backs and go for a more orthodox 4-4-1-1.

But according to the Chronicle, Bruce said: “We may tinker a bit and change a couple of things. It’s too early to change formations.”
So with that being confirmed, it remains to be seen what changes he will actually make if he does “tinker” with the side.
Bruce also confirmed that Joelinton is fit to play, despite coming off with a hip injury at Norwich, and exciting signing Allan Saint-Maximin is “in contention” for a place in the lineup.

Saint-Maximin could provide Newcastle with a much-needed spark
Fans will be desperate to see the French winger get an opportunity to start, with him offering Newcastle a bit of the ‘X-Factor’ unlike anyone else in the side can.
There are many options available to Bruce, and it will be interesting to see exactly who gets the nod on Sunday.

Another area fans will be looking at, is what he does with Miguel Almiron, with the Paraguayan looking less than comfortable playing alongside Joelinton.
A slightly wider role for the former MLS star may help him, but with limited striking options due to fitness issues, we will have to wait until an hour before kick-off to find out what he does.
