If Newcastle United had completed the signing of Christian Pulisic during the summer, it would have been heralded as a perfect window.
The Magpies ended the summer an attacker light, despite spending months in the pursuit of a winger.
One player who was linked was Chelsea’s Pulisic, who was unsettled at Stamford Bridge under the management of Thomas Tuchel.
The American was linked with a loan move that never materialised, despite Newcastle being ‘obsessed‘ with signing the £58million superstar.
Pulisic remained at Chelsea, and will hope to feature more under new manager Graham Potter. But if not, he could be linked with a move away once again.

And a new report from i News shares why it is even more important that Newcastle try and bring the USA international to St James’ Park.
Signing Pulisic can help Newcastle grow in America
With big ambition following the change of ownership, Newcastle want to boost their profile all over the world. And i News state that the club plan to grow their footprint in both Australia and America.
Signing Garang Kuol, the 18-year-old Australian wonderkid, will help with the former. However, Newcastle currently have no Americans in their squad to capture the attention of neutrals from across the pond.
And that’s why Pulisic would be such a good addition.
First and foremost, he would be a great addition to Eddie Howe’s squad. Newcastle need another top quality winger, and Pulisic is exactly that. With his style of play, he is the kind of player who Toon fans would absolutely love watching.
Allan Saint-Maximin is adored for his skill and dribbling ability, and Pulisic can be just as direct. With those two operating on the wings, Newcastle would be a very exciting team to watch.
But Pulisic would also have an impact off the pitch. The club want to boost their profile in America, and signing the 24-year-old would help towards that goal.
If he became a Magpie, there is no doubt that a plethora of ‘soccer’ fans would suddenly have a huge interest in goings on in the North East. They would want to watch the best player their country has to offer play for Newcastle. Thousands of official shirts would be sold.
It would be a win-win situation for the club. That’s why Pulisic would be such an important signing – for both football and commercial reasons.
