Ryan Fraser, who had been a reported target for Newcastle, is set to stay on the south coast with Bournemouth, according to The Sun.
Newcastle were said to be interested in a deal for the Scottish winger, using Matt Ritchie plus cash as an incentive.
More recently, it has been Arsenal who were thought to be front-runners for the sought after 25-year-old, but the Gunners are likley to be left disappointed too.

Fraser is quoted as saying: “The likelihood is I will be at Bournemouth for another year.
“And what will happen, will happen. That is all I can really say about it.

“No one has really spoken to me about it.”

How serious Newcastle’s interest was, is not fully known, with the club said to have played down the reports prior to the end of last season.
Wingers should be an area Newcastle strengthen this summer
Should Rafa Benitez stay at Newcastle, he will be looking to strengthen both wings and add competition.
He used Matt Ritchie largely as a wing-back last season, but with Kenedy finding no form, and Christian Atsu often struggling to make an impact, there have been few options out wide.

Fraser would have been a fantastic signing for the Toon, and just the type of player we would need to take us up a level.
But it is also why players of his quality are always more likely to go to a more ambitious, successful club than Newcastle, sadly.
With the club in complete limbo, it is hard for fans to currently see just where any new signings will come from.
