With new Newcastle owners potentially on the horizon, there is a lot of speculation that a new manager will follow.

Steve Bruce has spoke openly about the takeover, hoping that he will get a chance to continue in his job if a deal is done to buy the club from Mike Ashley.

However, he and everyone knows that if the potential new owners are as ambitious and as wealthy as reported, they’ll likely want a much bigger name in the dugout.

While there have been multiple managers linked with the job over the last month or so, two names won’t go away: Rafa Benitez and Mauricio Pochettino.

The first is a modern day Newcastle legend who is now plying his trade in China, while the other worked wonders with Tottenham but is now out of a job since he was sacked last November.

And according to the Telegraph, Benitez is keen on an emotional return to St James’ Park. The report also states that he’d like to sign John Stones and Ross Barkley, but more on that another time…
