Newcastle United are on the lookout for a bargain or two this summer – and there is seemingly a very good opportunity waiting to be snatched up.
The Magpies ultimately finished 12th last season, but two-thirds of the seasons were a struggle.

The squad undoubtedly needs strengthening, or the team might not be so lucky in 2021/22.
There is a lot of clamour for Joe Willock to be signed permanently. But there’s a chance that particular deal could be very expensive.
One man Newcastle should give some consideration to, is Matheus Pereira of West Bromwich Albion.

According to the Daily Star (pg 41, 13/06), the Baggies will accept just £15 million for their talisman this summer.
That is an extremely enticing figure, for a player who regular impressed in a struggled side in 2020/21.
Newcastle have to make some enquiries
Pereira at £15 million would be a steal.
The star is versatile, hardworking and capable of moments of magic. His recent goal against Arsenal being a case in point.

The Brazilian is far too good for the Championship and will surely be on the move.
He can provide goals and assists, and if Willock is going to be a struggle then he’d be a fine alternative.
