Newcastle’s most ambitious and exciting target of the January window has to be Krzysztof Piatek.

The Sun reported on Saturday night that the Magpies were interested in a move for the AC Milan striker, hoping that Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s arrival could push Piatek towards the exit.

There has also been talk of Aston Villa being interested, but the biggest potential suitor is Tottenham Hotspur. The Guardian have reported that Spurs are keen to sign the Polish striker on loan, with Harry Kane currently out injured.

While Piatek isn’t desperate to leave, the Italian media claim that AC Milan are willing to listen to offers for the £30 million man.

Calciomercato state that the 24-year-old isn’t keen on a move to Aston Villa because the project is not to his liking, which would also rule out Newcastle.

In contrast, Tottenham can offer him Champions League football and the chance to work with Jose Mourinho.

The Magpies have been linked with multiple strikers already this month, and this is one they need to move on from. If Tottenham are keen, Newcastle have no chance. If Calciomercato are correct, Piatek has no interest in a relegation battle.

Things may change towards the end of the month if a deal with Spurs or another big club hasn’t been agreed, but until then we must look elsewhere.
