Come the summer, Ryan Fraser will likely be a free agent.
The Bournemouth winger’s contract is winding down, and Newcastle must enter the race to sign him for nothing.
According to 90min, Everton, Arsenal and Tottenham are considering a move for the winger when his contract expires.
Newcastle have to make a move as well.
The Magpies have struggled offensively this season, with a lack of options holding Steve Bruce’s side back.
Things have improved since the change in system, but Newcastle still need to add extra quality in the summer – providing we stay in the Premier League.
And Fraser would fit in perfectly at St James’ Park.
The Cherries ace can play on both wings, and has proven over the past couple of seasons that he’s not just a pace merchant.
He was one of the most creative players in the league last season. Only Eden Hazard bettered his tally of 14 assists.
The right wing is a position we must improve in the summer.
Valentino Lazaro could possibly become a permanent Magpie, but would Fraser be an even better option on a free?
He’s got a lot more Premier League experience, and it would free up funds to be spent elsewhere. We do need a striker, after all…
A lot of clubs will be interested in Fraser, but that must not deter Newcastle. We can offer him guaranteed first-team football, something the likes of Arsenal and Spurs couldn’t.
If Newcastle really want to kick on, Fraser is the kind of player we must be targeting. And considering he’s going to be a free agent, it seems like a no brainer.
