Jose Mourinho is back in the Premier League, and that’s good news for Newcastle United fans.
The Special One is the new Tottenham boss, replacing Mauricio Pochettino who was sacked on Tuesday night. The news came as a shock, then seeing Mourinho being confirmed in his place less than 12 hours later was even more surprising.
He’s been out of management since getting sacked by Manchester United last season, but has recently been appearing as a pundit on Sky Sports. And of course, there were those rumours over the summer that he could be coming to St James’ Park as part of the BZG takeover…
But it’s Tottenham who are his next club, and some Newcastle fans think this can only benefit us.
Despite all of his honours, Mourinho has never won a league game at St James’ Park. Whether it was with Chelsea or Manchester United, he just couldn’t do it. And fortunately for us, Tottenham are yet to head to the North East this season.
We’re set to entertain Spurs at St James’ Park on May 2nd, in our penultimate home game of the season. And having already beat them away, some supporters are toasting the double early.
Will Mourinho’s woeful St James’ Park record continue with Spurs?
Well with Mourinho going to Spurs at least we know it’s 3 points for us come May. #NUFC

Mourinho having never won at SJP and Tottenham having to play there is the news I’m grateful for this morning.
