A few short months on from the fiasco that was the Bin Zayed Group, more takeover speculation has emerged at Newcastle, with a new Peter Kenyon bid reportedly submitted.

The claims were made by the Daily Mail, and they suggest Kenyon is backed by American organisation GACP Sports (General American Capital Partners), who recently bought La Liga club Bordeaux.

A brochure containing the group’s business model for Newcastle was leaked, and contains a number of inaccuracies, which demeans the credibility of the supposed bid.

After a summer where many fans got their hopes up of finally getting rid of their derided owner, they will be a lot more guarded this time around.

Many fans are refusing to be bitten for a second time

Many are pointing to the fact that the ‘news’ broke during falling attendances and Mike Ashley being under pressure from fans in the street.

But for an purported official document to have a number of inconsistencies, such as describing how they will stick with Steve Bruce, who they bizarrely claim has “unparalleled success in Europe”,and using last season’s loanee players as part of their valuation, seems very unprofessional.

They also used old, outdated Premier League logos and players no longer at the club on the cover. Again, giving fans more reasons to doubt how genuine it is.

Fans have reacted cynically to the report, and are showing that they will not have the wool pulled over their eyes again.
